Inspired by the Salute Military Golf Association, high school golfer Matt Rosenberger founded the North Texas Warrior Golf Association (NTWGA) in 2011 to support fellow warriors through the game of golf. With his father, Glenn, Matt organized the first fundraising tournaments, quickly bringing together a strong team of local sponsors and raising over $22,000 for SMGA programs.

By 2013, NTWGA launched its first North Texas Warrior Golf Clinic, modeled after SMGA’s eight-week series, delivering life-changing golf experiences to local warriors. Thanks to our dedicated sponsors, we soon offered a full range of rehabilitative activities—clinics, local outings, golf trips, tournament play, and opportunities to participate in PGA events.

In 2015, NTWGA became a 100% warrior-led organization. Every member of our Board and our Warrior Ambassadors has personally benefited from the healing and community our golf programs provide. Our mission is to pay those benefits forward—empowering fellow warriors to thrive through camaraderie and the game we love.

In 2016, we refined our mission and became the North Texas Warrior Golf Association, reflecting our belief that being a warrior is about more than injury—it’s about strength, resilience, and community. Today, we remain committed to improving the lives of veterans through golf, one warrior at a time.
